Tours FAQ
If one of your stops includes West Hills' tasting room, the tasting fee is covered. For other vineyards, tasting fees are not included and typically range from $20 to $40 per person, often waivable with a minimum purchase. We’ll discuss your tasting fee budget during our initial call to ensure everything aligns with your preferences.
Are the tasting fees for each winery included?
Customers can receive a full refund of the deposit or credit with a 7-day notice of cancellation. Additionally, customers will receive a full refund or credit if the Operator cancels the reservation due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
West Hills will not be held liable for cancellation fees from any wineries, third-party contracts, or fees associated with last-minute changes made within 7 days of the tour date.
Remaining tour balances will be collected in person on the day of the tour. Acceptable payment options include the credit card on file, a different credit card, or cash.
What is your Cancellation policy?
Please select "Book Now", and someone from our team will reply within 48 hours. West Hills Wine Tours requires a credit card and a $100 deposit at the time of booking for all wine tours.
If a booking is made within 7 days of the tour date, the $100 deposit is automatically non-refundable. However, it will be deducted from the total cost or moved to a future date if you rebook with us.
How do I make a reservation?
Gratuity for your tour driver and vineyard tasting room staff is not included. A 20% tip is customary at tasting rooms. If you wish to tip your tour guide, it can easily be added at the end of the tour using cash, card, Venmo, or CashApp.
Is gratuity included?
Most wineries are open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some open at 10:00 AM and a few stay open until 8:00 PM.
How late are the wineries open?
It's best to have wine shipped from where it was purchased. If West Hills' wine is purchased, we can ship to many (not all) states.
Can West Hills ship any wine I might purchase on the tour?
While we love furry friends, they are not allowed in the van unless they are trained service dogs.
I hear there are dog-friendly wineries. Can my dog come along on the tour?
Yes, but one of the advantages of having a great tasting room chef is that we can offer one-of-a-kind gourmet food on our tours.
Can we bring our own food?
We can accommodate up to 14 guests in our large Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van and up to 5 in our small Mercedes-Benz Metris van. Our Classic Cars can accommodate two guests.
How many people can you accomodate?
Choose between our Joinable Tour or Private Tour options. The Joinable Tour is a more economical choice and may include other small groups, while the Private Tour offers an exclusive experience just for your group. Please note that a minimum of 4 people is required for the Joinable Tour to proceed.
Do you combine us with other people?
Each tour lasts about 7 hours, with pick-up typically at 10:00 AM and drop-off around 5:00 PM. This may vary based on pick-up location, pace, and the day's events. If you need to be back by a specific time, please let us know in advance.
What is the duration of the tour?
If you choose to add the optional gourmet bites and sweets, you can expect a curated selection of artisanal treats designed by our onsite chef. These may include gourmet mini sandwiches, handcrafted cheeses, charcuterie, fresh fruits, gourmet chocolates, and a variety of other sweet and savory delights. We'll discuss any dietary restrictions during our initial call.
